# 英国第二大城市伯明翰宣布其实际上已破产

根据BBC的报道，英国第二大城市伯明翰的市政委员会宣布该市 "实质上 (effectively)" 破产。伯明翰市政府将停止所有新的开支，但保护弱势群体等法定服务除外。

据悉，伯明翰市政委员会破产与解决同工同酬索赔的7.6亿英镑（折合68.4亿人民币）法案有关。在一份联合声明中，伯明翰市工党议会的领导人约翰·科顿（John Cotton）和莎伦·汤普森（Sharon Thompson）表示，此举是“我们寻求让我们的城市重新建立稳健财政基础的必要步骤”。
