木星的卫星欧罗巴，隐藏在数公里冰下的海洋被认为是外星生命的主要候选者。

在木星的卫星欧罗巴上检测到的二氧化碳来自其冰冷外壳下的广阔海洋，周四使用詹姆斯韦伯太空望远镜数据进行的研究，可能会增强隐藏的水可能蕴藏生命的希望。
