# 美国将使用超级计算机帮助更好的建造核反应堆

位于伊利诺伊州莱蒙特的阿贡国家实验室正在购买一台新型[超级计算机Aurora](https://www.popsci.com/technology/frontier-supercomputer-ranks-fastest-world/) ，科学家将用它来研究最佳[核反应堆设计](https://www.anl.gov/article/argonne-prepares-for-exascale-supercomputer-simulations-of-nuclear-reactors)。截至目前，该实验室正在使用名为[Polaris](https://www.aps.anl.gov/APS-News/2022-08-29/argonnes-polaris-supercomputer-deployed-for-scientific-research/2022-08-29)的系统，这是一台 44 petaflops 的机器，每秒可执行约 44 万亿次计算。

目前正在安装的 Aurora 将拥有超过 2 exaflops 的计算能力，使其能够每秒进行 2 quintillion 计算，几乎是旧系统的 50 倍。一旦这台史无前例的机器上线，它有望在全球最强大计算机排行榜TOP500 排行榜中名列前茅。
